My second video installation- Cloudscape
In this video installation I am presenting a few of Ralph Steiner's work alongside my inspired pieces of monochrome cloudscape photography.
Mads Perch- his work.
Perch projects mind blowing patterns and vivid colour upon then human face and upper body.
Light Painting
Rather than projecting light upon my face, I'll incorporate artificial light another way by using some LED finger lights and a long exposure. Here are some wonderful examples of light painting.
This links to my topic 'Light and Atmosphere' as I mean to look into 'light' itself after I have reached an end with photographing cloud formations though will still try to include them in future images.

Mads Perch uses projected light to create wonderful patterns on skin, most patterns looking elegant or well composed. He likes to incorporate 'vibrancy, attitude and a healthy dose of colour'.
I would like to try using more colour, which is where I can start using light painting. But also, I would like to make a video installation, have it projected onto a wall to link my work back to Perch as he projects light in some of his work.

This image uses a spotlight to isolate the shapes, each surface of the spheres and 3D cuboid reflecting its colour and the surface they rest on. This image inspires me to possibly try working with shadows or reflections, experimenting with how light can be manipulated.
The green laser used by Perch has highlighted key areas of the image. The light hits the glass sphere, therefore distorting it and redirecting it elsewhere. The edges of the rectangle it rests on are made obvious, but it simply looks like redirected light rather then an actual tangible object. Everything appears artificial and isolated from everything else due to the lack of a background and only the vivid green to be seen.
